Latest update

10/27/08 - "An exciting update...
I've moved from Seattle to Campbell California.
Thank you(!!!) to all of you who made it to the Triple Door in Seattle earlier this month to see me off.
Holy gods, what an amazing show! I was able to watch most of it while getting gussied up for my acts from one of the private booths to the side of the stage.
I adore the Aerialistas and Ruby Mimosa!
Hopefully I'll get to come back to Seattle soon to perform in another round of Lily's 'Nightcap'.
In the meantime, I'm looking forward to performing in and around the San Fran area and maybe even LA.
Don't think that because I've and packed up my life, moved and have been crazy busy, means that I've taken leave of the burlesque stage for good.
I have plans. Big sparkling plans, and people who are willing to assist with their mad skills and imaginations.

while I like the chill and the rain of Seattle this time of year, I love the fact that it's nearly November and still super warm here in the San Jose area.
It cools off quite a bit at night, has the occasional rainfall, and gets colder in the winter. With that said, the 8 months of Seattle rain is something I won't really miss too much ;-)
Cloudy days in Seattle I can do, but planning anything outdoors on any given day was always a game of chance when it came to weather. There are a few outdoor events coming up this month and in November, and I can safely say that for once, I'm not as worried about getting rained out.

It's odd to call this place home now, though not in a bad way of course. I guess growing up and living in Washington all my life will make things seem a bit strange for a little while.

I am so happy though. While the stresses of the move steadily lessen as I settle into life with my sweetheart, I look forward to all the new friends/burlesque peeps, fun events we'll attend together, all our sewing/vintage pattern/WWII geekery, and general über happiness. It's the kind of happiness that occurs when you know you're with the person you were meant for. I don't really believe in the whole 'finding your soul-mate' thing that the female-targeted media seems to push. This sort of thing happens by accident, and I'm one of the lucky few.
XOXO!"

4/17/08 - "I've gone blonde already!
You can look forward to more updates here soon, and a bunch of new photos.
There are a few new 'teaser' shots on the front page, and on the "Bio" pages.
Hopefully I'll get some photos from a few recent shoots and stage shows up in the Gallery,
but for now, you'll just have to be patient with me.
In March, I traveled once again with the fabulous burlesque troupe, Glam-O-Rama.
This time it was a second visit to Anchorage Alaska for a three week run of shows at the amazing theater/museum/club called Chilkoot Charlie's.
Undoubtedly once again, we had a blast and Anchorage loved us!
The only bad thing was the part where I fell ill during the last week of our run.
I was running a temperature of around 104 at one point and having trouble breathing, so I paid a visit to the urgent care clinic.
The Doc said I had a very severe flu (it felt like pneumonia), gave me strict orders to take it easy and prescribed me some meds. So, I rested up as much as possible during the last few days, took my medicine like a good girl,
and was able to get on the plane home that following Sunday.
It has been so long since the last time I was sick, that I forgot how scary having that high of a fever can be.
Even now, I still have a slight cough but I'm otherwise in tip top shape. Although, if the little cough doesn't go away in the next few days, it's back to a doctor's office with me.
I'm sick of being sick already!
The allergy season is bad enough on it's own, ugh!
XOXO!"

1/28/08 - "Happy New Year!
Along with a new year, I've given myself a new hair color!
It's red. Vienna La Rouge is now very "Rouge" indeed, and might even go blonde by the middle of summer.
I loved having raven black hair for nearly 10 years, but I needed a change and really just wanted to see if
getting the black out was possible. Of course, someday perhaps I'll go back to black...but not for a long time!
So, it'll be a rich red to burgundy color for a while as I let it grow out and recover a bit before going blonde.
Although, I must say the person who did my hair did an excellent job at keeping it from getting fried!
It's actually very healthy and shiny.
Hopefully soon, I'll have more photos up with my new color. For now, here's a couple of links to some shots; one taken in my bathroom right after the salon visit,
and one taken the other night at a private event I performed at.

XOXO!"

8/22/07 - "NAME CHANGE!
That's right kids, I'm making it proper and finally doing away with the "Le" in Le Rouge.
As of now, it's Vienna La Rouge.
For a long time I'd been thinking of switching it, but was never that concerned and just put it off, until today. I'm going on tour through Europe in September, so I'd better fix it pronto!
Now comes the arduous task of correcting all the photos I have with my name on them...ugh!

Oh yeah, Europe! I'll be touring as part of the Glam-O-Rama Girly Show with Tana the Tattooed lady and Bettina May! We'll be hitting places like London, Paris, Berlin, and Lisbon, with a few photo shoots along the way.
Let's hope we don't dance ourselves *too* ragged by the end of the 3 week adventure! XOXO!"

3/6/07 - "New photo set coming soon!
Back in December, I did a shoot with the talented photographer, Vetala Hawkins. Below is a teaser shot, with more on the way, XOXO!"

2/28/07 - "Once again I apologize for the lack of updates! I'm back though, with a quick update on new photos just added to the Show Photos gallery. Over the next week or so, I'll be adding a couple more, so keep your eyes out for those.
Bye for now, XOXO!"

11/21/06 - "Hello again.
I've finally received the photos from the "1780s" shoot I did with Christopher Ambler back in September. As of now, I have a few of the images posted in my Myspace profile and blog here:

Myspace Profile
Myspace Blog Entry

As soon as I get copies to use on my site, I'll post them in the Gallery.
However, if you visit the Gallery now you can see some very recent photos taken by the talented, Kevin Hundsnurscher. These were shot at a Seattle club event called "Confessional" hosted by a good friend of mine who goes by the name, Monsignor.

I hope that all is well with everyone. All my best, and have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
XOXO!"

10/21/06 - "New direction is afoot!
Well, not really new for me, but for my audience.
You see, I've always loved the fashions of the past (as you may well know). The 1930s and 40s have
been an inspiration to me for so many years in my daily wardrobe, that it just seemed natural for me to reflect that as a burlesque performer too.
Unfortunately, it seems there have been a lot of people who have wrongfully deemed me a "Dita Copycat" simply based on the fact that I
also love the era Dita chooses to base her persona around. Plainly put; those people are dead wrong and I no longer listen to the negative banter that sadly, seems to be all they do.
However, I also want a "signature era". Something to use as my core for inspiration that may branch out in many different forms of expression.
This change isn't entirely due to the negativity, I just needed a change. In the creative process, I've reawakened a not so 'long lost love' if you will.
That love is one that has been with me almost my entire life.
It is the folly of the 18th century (1700s), Versailles, Schönbrunn Palace, Venice, powder, rouge, and panniers.
It is the inspiring mix of laces, silks, velvets, jewels, and feathers. It is also the Victorian era I'd like to include; the debauchery of the Moulin Rouge during the late 19th century (1800s), and the earlier era of the bustle.
Although I will continue to dress in my 1930s and 40s vintage, both for daily wear and for the occasional photo shoot. I could never just give that up!
Fittingly enough, the Sofia Coppola film, "Marie Antoinette" has just been released, which has only added to my creative drive.
I know there will be those that will say I'm only doing this because of the film, but that couldn't be farther from the truth.
Perhaps I will create an act dedicated to Marie herself, but my love of the 1700s goes back much farther; back to the very first costume sketch I made at age 7.
Back to the first gowns I made for my dolls.
And back to the first item of clothing I ever made for myself; a pair of 1750s stays (corset).
My years of historical costume research will show this as well;
that I do not do this for the sake of trend, or for validation in the eyes of the public.
I do this for me, and I just hope you will enjoy it as much as I.
XOXO!"
P.S. I've added some new show photos to the "Shows" page for my new number!

9/30/06 - "Hello again!
Boy, have I been a busy little sewing bee! One of my new acts is almost complete
and will debut on October 5th! I won't say much for now, but it involves the 1700s,
red roses, and a mask...with one of the most sparkly red tricorn hats you've ever seen! My eyes are beginning to cross from how many Siam red rhinestones I've had to apply to that little hat.
Thank goodness it's almost done!
As soon as I have photos I'll share them here A.S.A.P!
Ta for now, XOXO!"

9/19/06 - "Yaarrr mateys, it's been too long!
*Ahem* Yes, I'm celebrating "Talk Like A Pirate Day"...Anyway...
I must apologize for the lack of updates and attention that I have (not) given this site. I've been super busy putting together a new act, as well as creating other outfits for various photo shoots.
Speaking of shoots; I was lucky to have had another chance to work with Christopher Ambler this past weekend.
We decided to get together at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens to photograph me in my blue 1780s 'Robe a l'Anglaise', complete with the large Gainsborough hat I had just managed to complete! Below is a teaser, the rest should follow soon as I get them from Chris.

More show dates have been added to the Calendar page, so be sure to check that out. Otherwise, have a great week and I promise to do some major updates on this site soon!
XOXO!"

7/24/06 - "What a glamorous weekend!
This past Saturday (the 22nd) I had the honor of being onstage with Dita Von Teese as one of her "Powder Puff Girls" at the Triple Door here in Seattle. The show was spectacular with many wonderful performances by Seattle's own Atomic Bombshells.
Fun was had, cute photos were taken, and glitter was strewn.
Later that night, I had the soft lingering aroma of powder to lull me to sleep ;-)
Below is a photo taken of myself, Dita, and my friend Jennifer right before we hit the stage. More are on the way so keep an eye on the Scrapbook page. I'll try to put photos up there by the end of the weekend. XOXO!"

7/16/06 - "Greetings! Wow, lots of things to share about these past few weeks.
There is an addition to the Gallery page with photos taken by Craig Thomson. These were taken as I was almost literally walking out the door after a performance. Luckily, Craig caught me before I left and captured some great shots.
My Troupe. Glitzkrieg held auditions this past Friday in the form of a show. What better way to test your possible future burlesque cohorts than to give them a taste of what a live show is like ;-) We had a hard time deciding but narrowed it down to 3 girls out of the 15 that applied. We'll be making the official announcement within the next few days, so stay tuned to GlitzkriegBurlesque.com for more info on that.
July 22nd a certain burlesque queen will be in town at the Triple Door. You guessed it, Dita Von Teese, and yours truly is honored to join her on stage decked out in gold as one of the Powder Puff Girls!

I'd write more, but I have to run. Lots of stuff to do today, perhaps I'll add to this entry later in the evening.
XOXO!"

6/29/06 - "Hello again, it's been a while! Things have been busy on the sewing front and I'm both finishing and beginning some amazing costumes. At least one of these projects won't be a stage costume *yet*, but it will be featured in a photo shoot soon. Along with all the burlesque-related projects I do, I have to balance it out with sewing outfits that have no purpose other than to be gorgeous and photogenic ;-) There are so many Victorian and 18th century gowns drawn up in my sketch book (patterns drafted too!) that I need to start on; preferably sooner than later. Just yesterday I received a package from India filled with the most glorious stripe and faille silk taffeta! That should give you a clue as to what's in store. Many other gorgeous fabrics and vintage trims from my vast collection, spanning 15 years of collecting, will be put to use. I promise it will be quite a treat to feast your eyes on when I'm done with the first few gowns.
In other news, be sure to check out the video I was in last summer with local Seattle band, The All American Playboys. I must say, they are such nice young gents and a hoot to work with. You can see the video here at the AAPB Myspace profile. It's quite amusing!
I wish you all a happy and safe 4th of July, and I'll be updating here again very soon. XOXO!!"

4/30/06 - "My goodness what a weekend! My trip to Las Vegas for the Miss Exotic World Burlesque Reunion and Pageant was so much fun. It was great to catch up with friends and colleagues. I'm also proud to announce that I won the award for "Most Classic" performer! As for the rest of the weekend, it was spent watching some amazing burlesque from all over the world, shopping, taking over small restaurants with rather large groups of friends, and even doing a few interviews. One was for a film, and another for a TV program. As soon as I'm able, I'll post more info on both of those along with photos from the weekend as I find them. XOXO!"

4/26/06 - "Another quick note about some exciting news! I am honored to have been the subject of a new drawing by Krysztof Nemeth, who was commissioned to do the piece for The Exotic World Burlesque Museum. This work will also be featured in their auction to help raise money for the museum, and help keep burlesque history alive and glittering for generations to come."

4/19/06 - "Just stopping by to post a quick update. I just finished a hat and have it listed on Ebay. See it here. I should have a few more items listed by the end of the week, including a vintage dress from the 1930s. In other news; I will be performing at this year's Miss Exotic World Pageant in Las Vegas! Go here for more info.
Stay tuned for more wonderful things that I'll be adding to the site. I have a ton of fabulous ideas for photo shoots with a couple of amazing looks/costumes that I have currently in the works! Even a couple of great ideas that have been suggested to me by a few photographers. I'm excited for warmer weather here in Seattle as some of the shoots I have in mind are outdoors.
XOXO!"

3/21/06
- Hello again :-) More changes on the site have taken place over the last week or so. There are new-ish photos on the Shows page; updated at least. However, I do have a few new projects in the works that showcase the many facets of my personal style and historical fashion obsessions. The images on the Homepage and the Burlesque page are a bit of a teaser ;-) I'll not say much for now, but the secret will be exposed soon! My birthday is coming up in the next day or two, and I see it as another great chapter just waiting to be revealed.
XOXO!

- "Welcome to the somewhat re-vamped home of Vienna Le Rouge! The site is undergoing some changes as you may have noticed, and they will continue for the next week or so. Things will be balanced and back to normal soon. I have decided to do a major overhaul for the following reason:
While I do sew and make my own stage costumes, clothing, accessories, I don't necessarily want to let that be the main focus here. I've had many nice people asking if they can order corsets, hats, etc., but too many have tried to simply place orders as if this were a shopping site.

So to make things a bit more clear, I've done away with most of the fashion info to concentrate on showcasing my burlesque career.
Enjoy, XOXO!"

2/19/06 - "What a whirlwind weekend that was! Last night's show at the Pink Door in Seattle was fantastic and we were blessed with a great audience. This was what the Pink Door on a Saturday should be like. No crazed football fans, etc. Just packed with a wonderful group of people. I guess fetish diva Midori was in the audience, but I never got the chance to actually say hi to her. I hope she liked the show. It went smoothly, and even though I had to improvise my 'Minnie the Moocher' routine a little, it was still a crowd-pleaser. I'm used to having a large(r) stage for it, and since my white feather fans are still awaiting repair, I did a scaled down version.
Friday night was the show at the Re-Bar; it turned out to be a really great night with a fabulous crowd. It made up for the fact I had to do my second set to the same music as my first. The audience was really supportive and became quite vocal when they announced my music wasn't playing. Someone even yelled that they would sing a tune, as long as I gave them a second set! Aww, *blush* It seems they really didn't mind sitting through the same music anyway ;-)"

2/13/06 - "The Vancouver Burlesque Festival was a blast! I had a great time performing and seeing many lovely fellow burly-q peeps. I may write more about this later, but I'm a little wiped out right now. I just want to curl up with some chocolate pudding in front of the TV. XOXO!"

12/3/05 - "The pay I get from performing often goes toward new costumes, but it's by no means a fortune. I figure it wouldn't hurt to try this route if people like my shows and want to see more even bigger, better shows from me in the future. This way the audience (yes, you guys) can take part in helping to create my performances. Plans for larger more flashy props are on my proverbial drawing board for the near future, so I am keeping this donation button up on my site for this purpose.
Thanks, XOXO!"

11/10/05 - "I've just added some new photos to the Burlesque Pages Gallery, plus some exciting new show dates on my calendar for December! My Burlesque pages are constantly being updated with new photos and show info added regularly, so check them out!
XOXO!
